Peter (Panagiotis) Panaretos (1938-2010) was a dedicated officer and long time active member of the Kytherian Association of New York.

Panagiotis "Pete" Panaretos, 71, passed away on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at his residence. Born in Kythira Island, Greece, he arrived in the United States 40 years ago. He resided in Cliffside Park before moving to Neshanic Station 32 years ago. While still living in Greece, Mr. Panaretos served in the Merchant Marines (NAFTICO). Pete worked for Transco for 30 years, retiring in 1999 as an Electronic Communications Technician. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. He enjoyed tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and was very handy. Pete enjoyed fishing, especially with his family and his favorite hobby was photography.
He was preceded in death by his dear parents, Haralambos and Grigoria Veneris Panaretos. Surviving are his beloved wife of 38 years, Erifili (Phyllis) Palios Panaretos; his loving children, Grigoria Bell and husband, Rory of Hillsborough and Bobby and wife, Victoria of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; his two cherished granddaughters, Jacqueline and Sidney; his dear brothers, George Panaretos and wife, Maria of Cliffside Park and Steve Panaretos and wife, Aspasia of Woodcliff Lakes; several nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and their families in Greece.
Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:30 AM on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526 7638, followed by a 10:30 AM Service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway. Interment will be in Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook. Viewing hours will be Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Trisagio Services will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 PM.
